Empowering the Inexperienced Teacher

New teachers are leaving the profession within the first five years of teaching at a rate of approximately 44%.  Other than the salary and being burned out, new teachers are quitting because they feel ill-equipped and overwhelmed by the expectations and responsibilities of the profession (even after your professional development sessions to start the year).  In her presentation, Anita will inspire and encourage your teachers who have little to no experience on how to move from feeling overwhelmed and unqualified to feeling prepared, poised and balanced. She will debunk common myths that new teachers have of the classroom, expose what needs to be prioritized, and share best practices on how to make it a successful year as well as a successful career.

02

The Importance of Building Rapport with Students and Parents

At the core of classroom management is one key concept that often goes overlooked: teacher-student rapport.  By establishing the right kind of relationship, teachers are not only able to manage student behaviors well but also create a high-achieving learning environment. In her presentation, Anita provides you with insight into practices and steps that have worked well with her most challenging students and the most challenging parents.

03

Reaching and Challenging the Gifted Mind

As an educator, you want to challenge all of your scholars, regardless of their current capability level.  You know it takes extra work to try and reach those who may be behind or experienced some kind of learning loss, but what about the student who is gifted and talented or simply excelling well beyond their peers everyday? Anita is excited to speak to you about reaching those students, challenging them in new ways, and ensuring they don’t lose their passion for learning.

04

Implementing Self-Care Routines to Manage Stress and Prevent Burnout

With the seemingly never-ending list of responsibilities associated with this profession, stress and burnout seem inevitable. However, they don't have to be with the right self-care routine. Anita is eager to share with you the steps every teacher should take in order to create a habit of putting yourself first in order to be as effective as possible in the classroom. In her presentation, she will explain the importance of self-care, why planning for it is a must, and how to implement it in order to achieve a balance between work and home life. In doing so, participants can expect to leave with a renewed perspective on why taking care of themselves is the best thing they can do for themselves and their students all school year.
